A Sanctuary in the Aegean: Sandblu Santorini returns this Spring as the first LXR Hotels & Resorts property in Greece
A journey into the authentic side of Santorini
Sandblu Santorini, LXR Hotels & Resorts welcomes its first guests for the new season on April 8, 2026, marking its debut as the first LXR Hotels & Resorts property in Greece. Overlooking the coastline of Kamari’s black-sand beach, the resort is designed as a serene retreat for travelers who prioritize design and discovery, while seeking a deeply personal hospitality experience. Set in a unique location on the island, Sandblu Santorini reflects the Cycladic heritage through an aesthetic inspired by Santorini’s volcanic landscape and the distinctive light of the Aegean.
Striking design inspired by Cycladic tradition
Built amphitheatrically on the foothills of Ancient Thera above Kamari’s black beach, Sandblu Santorini features 36 rooms, 27 suites, and 3 villas. These spaces blend the iconic Cycladic white with volcanic stone and natural tones, echoing the island’s earth and sky. Most accommodations include private pools, while interiors honor local craftsmanship with natural wood elements and a color palette inspired by the sea. Private terraces seamlessly connect indoor and outdoor living, while the villas offer expansive terraces and private pools, creating an atmosphere of complete tranquility and seclusion.
Contemporary gastronomy rooted in tradition
Sandblu Santorini’s culinary identity unfolds through a variety of concepts highlighting the island’s flavors, from fresh seafood to the renowned wines of Santorini’s vineyards. At Nectar restaurant, Greek cuisine is reimagined through a contemporary lens. Plateia accompanies guests throughout the day, from breakfast to dinner, with views of the infinity pool and the Aegean, while the traditional bakery Stari stands out for its freshly baked creations.
Honoring Santorini’s winemaking heritage, alongside Aroma wine bar—featuring 300 labels from both international and Greek vineyards—the resort introduces its own cellar, Santovini. Set within a natural cave (kanava) on the property, Santovini offers private dining and wine tastings in an atmosphere that blends understated luxury with authenticity.
The culinary experience extends beyond the resort with Blu restaurant in Imerovigli, also under the Sandblu Santorini umbrella. With uninterrupted views of the Caldera and Santorini’s iconic sunset, Blu invites guests to enjoy Greek and Mediterranean cuisine enriched with international influences.
The overall culinary direction is led by Executive Chefs Panagiotis Boufis and Thymios Kola, shaping a creative vision grounded in precision and respect for raw ingredients.
Feisal Jaffer, Global Head of LXR Hotels & Resorts, commented:
“Sandblu captures Santorini as many travelers wish to experience it—peaceful, design-focused, and deeply connected to its surroundings. It is an authentic expression of the LXR philosophy, offering a distinctive hospitality experience that brings guests closer to the people, culture, and lesser-known sides of the island. Since its founding in 2018, LXR has catered to travelers seeking meaningful experiences, contemporary design, and personalized service. As we continue to expand in Europe, Sandblu Santorini is a perfect addition to the brand, inviting guests to connect more deeply with the character of the island and its people.”

The Wellness Collective: A holistic approach to wellbeing
In 2026, Sandblu Santorini introduces the Wellness Collective, a season-long program hosting leading therapists and small-group experiences tailored to each guest’s personal journey. From guided movement and meditation to restorative rituals and expert-led workshops, each activity is designed to foster reconnection, balance, and renewal.
The resort collaborates with international practitioners and specialists, hosting retreats focused on yoga, nutrition, meditation, sound bathing, and psychology—offering transformative experiences rooted in authentic wellness practices.
Experiences that reveal Santorini’s authentic side
From horseback riding across volcanic landscapes to olive oil and wine tastings with local producers, Sandblu Santorini curates experiences for travelers seeking a deeper connection with the destination.
Wine enthusiasts can enjoy private tastings at the new Santovini Wine Cellar, a natural cave within the resort offering an atmospheric setting for intimate and memorable moments. Each experience is thoughtfully designed to go beyond expectations, expressing the spirit of LXR with a strong emphasis on personalization.
A complete hospitality experience
From gastronomy and wellness to relaxation and exploration, every element comes together to create a holistic stay in an environment that allows guests to move at their own pace and experience Santorini in a more meaningful way.
The summer season introduces new experiences that further enhance the character of Sandblu Santorini, while preserving the sense of tranquility and privacy that defines it.
