Confirming its prominent position on the global yachting agenda once again, the Mediterranean Yacht Show (MEDYS) has set a registration record for this year’s event, returning to Nafplio for the 9th year from April 27th to May 1st, 2024.

Within just one week of the official start of registrations, 120 yachts have registered for 95 berths (depending on the size of the yachts) at the port of Nafplio, once again creating an extensive waiting list. It is worth noting that yachts measuring 24 meters and above in length have the right to participate in the exhibition, making the MEDYS the only sector event of similar scope in Greece that is exclusively addressed to the upper segment of luxury yachting.

Records are not new for the event. It is worth mentioning that at MEDYS 2023, 92 yachts, with a cumulative LOA of 3.5 kilometers, filled the port of Nafplio. In order to fully grasp the MEDYS’ size, the number of yachts participating was significantly higher than those in similar shows in Antigua (for the Western Hemisphere) and Barcelona (for the Western Mediterranean).

Celebrating its 10th year since its founding, the Mediterranean Yacht Show, organized by the Greek Yachting Association, has firmly established itself as one of the top events for industry professionals and has attracted international interest, making it the world’s largest crewed yacht charter show.

Expectations for this year’s 9th Mediterranean Yacht Show are exceptionally high, with a significant presence of exhibitors offering services and supplies related to yachting. The show also features a series of thematic events and receptions, bringing together yachting professionals from around the world and positioning Greece at the forefront.

On the occasion of the highly successful kickoff for the 9th MEDYS, the President of the Greek Yachting Association, Mr. Michael Skoulikidis, stated, ‘As we celebrate 10 years since the first Mediterranean Yacht Show was organized, we could not have had a better and stronger start than the multitude of registrations for participating yachts, which now exceed the capacity of the hospitable port of Nafplio. It is a great joy and satisfaction for all of us at the Greek Yachting Association, as the journey of the past 10 years is the culmination of the Association’s efforts, which have clearly demonstrated that high-standard yacht tourism is the spearhead of Greek tourism.’

The show is co-organized by the Greek Yachting Association and the Municipality of Nafplio and is under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy.
