The World’s Largest Crewed Yacht Charter Show Returns to Nafplio from May 2–6, 2026
With more than 130 yacht entries competing for 94 available berths at the port of Nafplio, the exhibition once again confirms its international appeal and the steadily growing demand for Greek yachting. A special institutional conference on Marine Parks and anchoring control will also take place. Looking ahead to the future of maritime tourism, the 11th Mediterranean Yacht Show (MEDYS) is preparing to welcome leading figures from the global yacht brokerage community to Nafplio, along with hundreds of visitors from around the world, from May 2 to May 6, 2026. The exhibition has firmly established itself as a benchmark for Greek yachting on the international stage, recognized as the largest event of its kind worldwide and the only one of this scale in Greece dedicated exclusively to the high-end luxury yachting sector.
A Benchmark for the Global Market
Once again, the port of Nafplio will host an outstanding fleet of yachts holding Greek commercial licenses, bringing together hundreds of industry professionals from across the globe and offering a comprehensive overview of market trends and opportunities. At the same time, dozens of exhibitors will showcase products and services covering the full spectrum of the yachting industry. The official opening of MEDYS will take place on the afternoon of Saturday, May 2, with an inauguration ceremony at the port, followed by a reception at the iconic Bourtzi Fortress. With an impressive lineup of yachts, prominent industry representatives, and a rich program of social events, the show continues to reinforce its role as a key meeting point for the international luxury yachting community.
The President of the Greek Yachting Association, Mr. Ioannis Kourounis, stated: “Ten years after its inception, the Mediterranean Yacht Show has evolved into the largest exhibition of its kind worldwide, effectively promoting Greek yachting and strengthening the country’s position on the global tourism map. This year’s event, already recording another participation record, aims to further enhance its institutional character through parallel initiatives of high added value. Our goal is for MEDYS to remain the annual meeting point for the most influential stakeholders of the Greek and international yachting community, as well as a platform for the exchange of ideas and the development of new trends shaping the industry’s future.”
Marine Parks and Anchoring Control at the Forefront of Institutional Dialogue
As part of this year’s MEDYS, a dedicated conference on Marine Parks and Anchoring Control will be held under the auspices of the Ministries of Environment & Energy, Maritime Affairs & Insular Policy, and Tourism. At a critical juncture for the industry, the conference will focus on the need for a practical and implementable framework that ensures marine protection without compromising the competitiveness of Greek yachting. It will also highlight the role that the sector is called upon to play in shaping relevant policies. The event will take place on Saturday, May 2, at 16:30, at the historic “Vouleftiko” venue, in the presence of ministry representatives, institutional stakeholders, and industry professionals.
The Chef’s Competition Returns, Showcasing Culinary Excellence at Sea
Alongside the exhibition, the Chef’s Competition remains a beloved highlight, celebrating culinary excellence on board. This year’s theme is the Greek tomato—the “queen” of Greek cuisine—which participants are invited to reinterpret through innovative, high-level culinary creations. The prestige of the competition is further elevated by its judging panel, which includes two distinguished figures of the international culinary scene: Giorgos Papazacharias of Delta Restaurant, the only restaurant in Greece awarded two Michelin stars, and Michelin-starred Chef Luca Piscazzi from Pelagos Restaurant at the Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens. Their presence guarantees a judging process of the highest standards, in line with MEDYS’s international stature.
With preparations entering the final stretch, MEDYS 2026 will once again transform Nafplio into a global hub for the yachting industry, reaffirming Greece’s strong presence on the world map of luxury yachting. The Mediterranean Yacht Show is co-organized by the Greek Yachting Association and the Municipality of Nafplio, under the auspices of the Ministries of Tourism and Maritime Affairs & Insular Policy, with the support of the Region of Peloponnese.
