A Weekend in Tweed returns to Spetses for an autumn journey through time

A vintage bike ride with views of the Argosaronic Gulf

Starting from Poseidonion Grand Hotel, the “Tweeders” will get on their bicycles and set off on their traditional ride through the Spetses landscape, passing by some of the island’s characteristic landmarks. Surrounded by pine trees and with views of the Argosaronic Gulf, the much-loved picnic will once again be one of the most beautiful stops along the route, featuring flavours from Poseidonion Grand Hotel, a relaxed atmosphere, and cycling challenges and activities for participants of all ages.

Each year, outfits and bicycles hold a special place at A Weekend in Tweed. The most elegant and creative tweed looks will be recognised in the awards taking place throughout the three-day event, while the Concours d’Elegance will once again turn the spotlight on the classic bicycles and their vintage details, which stand out for their aesthetic appeal and history.

1900 The Barber Shop will take care of the participants’ grooming, completing their signature tweed looks, while Kilo-Shop will add its own distinctive touch to the event, further enhancing the vintage aesthetic of A Weekend in Tweed.

And when the bicycles stop, the celebration will continue. In the evening, Palms The Bar will become the meeting point, with DJ sets and parties bringing a more contemporary rhythm to the retro atmosphere of the three-day event, accompanied by the refreshing and light French St. Germain Spritz, adding a sophisticated touch to every moment.

A longstanding autumn tradition in Spetses

Since 2014, when the event was first held in Spetses to mark the 100th anniversary of Poseidonion Grand Hotel, the sight of classic bicycles and tweed outfits has become an integral part of autumn on the island. Twelve years later, A Weekend in Tweed continues to renew the same tradition: a weekend filled with elegance that transports Spetses, even if only for a little while, to another era.

A Weekend in Tweed is organised by Poseidonion Grand Hotel in collaboration with the Hellenic Cycling Museum and is held under the auspices of the Municipality of Spetses and the Spetses Commercial and Craft Association.
