Poseidonion Grand Hotel launches a new partnership with Skoufa Gallery

With more than four decades in the art world, Skoufa Gallery has played a pivotal role in promoting prominent Greek artists and shaping the country’s contemporary art scene. Its partnership with Poseidonion Grand Hotel brings together two worlds united by shared values: timelessness, aesthetic refinement, and the pursuit of meaningful experiences.

This new partnership builds on the hotel’s long-standing role as a cultural landmark on Spetses, continuing a tradition that connects hospitality with creative expression.

A journey through contemporary Greek art

The exhibition brings together paintings, sculptures, ceramics, and mixed-media works by established and younger artists, showcasing the breadth and vitality of Greece’s contemporary art scene. Through a variety of techniques, materials, and artistic approaches, the works move between figuration and abstraction, drawing inspiration from the Greek landscape, the human figure, memory, and contemporary everyday life.

Among the participating artists are figures with a significant international presence, including Ilias Papailiakis, who has represented Greece at the Venice Biennale and participated in documenta 14; Irene Kana, whose work is held in major public collections; and George Hadoulis, known for his distinctive visual language in painting and ceramics. The selection also includes works by Antonis Staveris, Tasos Pavlopoulos, Pavlos Habidis, Prodromos Charalampidis, Tania Dimitrakopoulou, Michalis Madenis, Mariella Bilitsa, Katerina Serafetinidou, and Marion Inglessi, alongside other notable figures in contemporary Greek art.

Displayed in the hotel’s public spaces, the works create a natural dialogue between the Poseidonion’s architecture, the light of Spetses, and contemporary Greek art. All works are available for purchase through Skoufa Gallery, giving visitors the opportunity to acquire pieces by prominent Greek artists and take a part of this experience home with them.

An enduring relationship with culture

Since its opening in 1914, Poseidonion Grand Hotel has been an integral part of the cultural and social life of Spetses. Inspired by the vision of its founder, Sotirios Anargyros, the hotel continues to support initiatives that promote culture and creative expression, helping to establish the island as a destination known for its aesthetic refinement.

The exhibition will remain on display at Poseidonion Grand Hotel until the end of September, offering hotel guests and visitors to Spetses the opportunity to view a representative selection of contemporary Greek art. All works will be available for purchase through Skoufa Gallery.
