July 13, 2026 – Sifnos, Greece

Some hotels begin with a concept; others grow out of a deeply personal connection to a place. Stamna Sifnos belongs to the latter. After years of building their own relationship with Sifnos, brothers Kostas and Nikos Antimissaris created a place that reflects everything they cherish about the island: its authenticity, simplicity, tranquillity, and the warmth of its people. With genuine care and a deep respect for Sifnos’ local architecture, natural landscape, and cultural identity, they have created a setting where every detail, from the materials used throughout the property to the experiences offered to guests, tells a story of the island.

Set on a hillside just a few minutes from Apollonia, Stamna Sifnos returns for its second season as one of the Cyclades’ most distinctive boutique stays. A member of the internationally renowned Design Hotels, Stamna invites travellers to experience Sifnos at the island’s own pace, through a stay that celebrates its nature, gastronomy, and traditions.

A contemporary ode to the traditions of Sifnos

Stamna’s architecture follows the natural contours of the land, creating the impression of a small Cycladic settlement that unfolds organically within the landscape. Natural materials and earthy tones shape an environment in harmony with its surroundings, while gardens planted with olive trees and aromatic herbs native to the island enhance the sense of tranquillity that defines the stay. The hotel’s name itself pays tribute to Sifnos’ centuries-old ceramic tradition, while handmade ceramic pieces by Sifnian artisans can be found throughout the property, subtly bridging contemporary aesthetics with the island’s cultural heritage.

The same philosophy extends across the hotel’s 20 rooms and suites. From the Cave Suites and Maisonettes to suites with private infinity pools, each space has been designed to offer privacy, tranquillity, and uninterrupted views of the Aegean. Stamna has been conceived as a destination that moves at the natural rhythm of the island, inviting guests to connect with the landscape and experience genuine Cycladic hospitality.

Gastronomy by Gikas Xenakis at Pilōs

At the heart of Stamna is Pilōs, where award-winning Chef Consultant Gikas Xenakis expresses the hotel’s culinary philosophy through a contemporary approach to Greek cuisine.

In keeping with the slow-living philosophy that defines Stamna, Pilōs celebrates seasonality and Cycladic ingredients through the lens of “Mediterranean minimalism.” The hotel’s organic kitchen garden, Kipos, supplies the kitchen daily with fresh vegetables and aromatic herbs, while partnerships with small-scale producers, fishermen, and local farmers bring the flavours of Sifnos directly to the table. The experience is complemented by a carefully selected list of Cycladic wines and signature cocktails designed to pair naturally with the flavours of the menu.

Sympraxis: Sifnos meets Tinos

As part of this season’s programme, Pilōs presents Sympraxis on July 16, a special gastronomic evening bringing Sifnos and Tinos together. Chef Consultant Gikas Xenakis has created a bespoke five-course degustation menu, conceived as a culinary dialogue between the land and sea of the Cyclades. Each course is paired with selected labels from Volacus Winery, a boutique winery that has consistently showcased the distinctive viticultural character of Tinos. Dishes including fresh Greek crab, Aegean grouper, and slow-cooked lamb are paired with selected Volacus wines, including Malagousia, Assyrtiko, and the winery’s distinctive Mavrotragano, highlighting the seasonality, authenticity, and character of the Cycladic landscape. Sympraxis brings two islands together around the same table, with the distinctive flavours of Sifnos and Tinos brought into dialogue through the chef’s creative perspective, wine, and hospitality.

The authentic side of Sifnos

With slow living at the heart of its philosophy, Stamna Sifnos encourages guests to experience the island beyond the expected. Through a selection of activities, from visits to pottery workshops and gastronomic experiences to hikes along the island’s historic trails, sea excursions, and private tours, the hotel team acts as a bridge between guests and everyday life on Sifnos. For Stamna, luxury is not about being removed from the destination, but about forming a deeper connection with it.
