Empiria Group announces the opening of Eréma, its new all-suite hotel on the southeastern coast of Milos. Representing a €22 million investment, the new property marks Empiria Group’s expansion into another iconic Cycladic destination, further strengthening its presence in Greece’s luxury hospitality sector. With this latest addition, the Group’s portfolio now comprises seven hotels with a combined capacity of more than 350 rooms, reflecting its continued growth in the premium hospitality market.
“Our investment in Milos represents another strategic milestone in Empiria Group’s growth journey and reflects our long-term commitment to investing in destinations with authentic character and strong international appeal,” noted Antonis Eliopoulos, President & CEO of Empiria Group. “Our goal is to create experiences that celebrate the unique identity of each destination while generating long-term value for local communities.”
The name Eréma is inspired by the ancient Greek word “erēmos” (ἔρημος), evoking tranquillity, silence and the sense of space that allows for a deeper connection with place. This philosophy informs every aspect of the project and is reflected in both its architecture and the guest experience.
“Eréma was born out of a profound connection with Milos,” commented Kalia Konstantinidou, Group Executive Officer of Empiria Group. “From the very beginning, we felt that this hotel truly belonged to this place. Our vision was to create a space that engages in dialogue with the landscape while offering a hospitality experience that fosters tranquillity, mindfulness and a more meaningful connection with the island.”
Eréma has been designed with the objective of achieving LEED Gold certification, incorporating environmentally responsible practices and energy-efficient solutions that meet the highest international sustainability standards.
With the addition of Eréma, Empiria Group further expands its portfolio, which now spans Santorini, Paros, Milos and the Peloponnese, while also strengthening its longstanding collaboration with Marriott International through the Design Hotels™ brand.
