A rare opportunity to experience the legacy of the renowned wine house alongside its owner, Alexis Leven-MentzelopoulosJune 11, 2026 – Messinia, Greece
Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino welcomes Château Margaux, one of Bordeaux’s most historic and renowned wine estates, for an exclusive one-night-only dining experience at The Private Kitchen on 19 June 2026.
In a rare appearance, Alexis Leven-Mentzelopoulos, owner of Château Margaux, will personally attend and host the evening, offering guests a unique opportunity to discover the heritage, philosophy and enduring legacy of one of the world’s most iconic wine estates. Limited to just 16 guests, the event marks a unique moment in Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino’s 2026 programme of culinary and wine experiences.
Bringing together the culinary philosophy of Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino and the timeless elegance of Château Margaux, the evening will feature a specially designed tasting menu by Executive Chef Bertrand Valegeas and Chef Stella Asimakopoulou. Showcasing the richness of seasonal ingredients, the menu will include dishes such as red tuna with pied de cochon, binchotan asparagus with Baerii caviar, line-caught sea bass and Wagyu beef, paired with a curated selection of Château Margaux wines. Guests will have the opportunity to discover distinguished vintages including Château Margaux 1989, 2003 and 2009, alongside Pavillon Blanc du Château Margaux and Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux.
With roots in the Médoc dating back to the 12th century and recognised as a Premier Grand Cru Classé in the historic Bordeaux Classification of 1855, Château Margaux is internationally recognised for wines defined by balance, precision and elegance. Today, under the stewardship of the Mentzelopoulos family, the estate continues to honour its heritage while embracing a thoughtful and forward-looking approach to winemaking.
Commenting on the collaboration, Raul Levis, General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino, said: “Welcoming Château Margaux to Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino represents a truly special moment within this year’s programme of culinary experiences. Through this collaboration, we aim to create an intimate occasion where gastronomy and wine come together in a way that reflects both the spirit of our destination and our philosophy of thoughtful hospitality.”
Alexis Leven-Mentzelopoulos, owner of Château Margaux, added: “It is a pleasure to join Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino for this special evening dedicated to wine and gastronomy. We look forward to sharing the heritage and philosophy of Château Margaux in a setting that celebrates authenticity, tradition and genuine hospitality.”
Inspired by The Journey of Genesis and The Journey of Ambrosia, two of the thematic pillars of Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino’s 2026 culinary and wine programme, the evening celebrates the meeting of exceptional gastronomy and one of the world’s most respected wine estates.
