Ermioni Marina: New 250-berth investment places Ermionida on the global yachting map

A landmark investment in the Argosaronic Gulf redefines yachting and coastal tourism in the Peloponnese, blending world-class marina infrastructure with architecture rooted in local heritage.

Combining state-of-the-art marine infrastructure with contemporary architecture inspired by local tradition, the new development will feature high-end restaurants, a boutique hotel, a waterfront promenade, and striking public spaces, repositioning Ermioni as a leading destination for yachting and seafront leisure in Greece. The new Ermioni Marina, located directly opposite the area’s picturesque settlement, is now entering the implementation phase. Situated in one of the most naturally sheltered bays of the Argosaronic Gulf, the project combines modern infrastructure with a distinctive architectural identity, creating a destination where tradition meets innovation. The investment is being carried out by a business entity involving Tethys and EMMA Capital, with full operation expected by summer 2027.

Port Infrastructure of International Standards

The Bay of Ermioni, on the south-eastern coast of Argolis and approximately 85 km from Nafplio, is defined by the Bisti peninsula to the east and the Krotis mountain range to the north. Its elongated shape, approximately 1 km in length and 400 metres in width, offers natural protection from wave activity, further enhanced by impressive limestone cliffs. The marina will be located at the north-western edge of the bay, ensuring easy access and safe berthing throughout the year. It will have a capacity of 250 berths for yachts, with the ability to accommodate superyachts of up to 60 metres. The water area will extend over 96.3 stremmas, with a basin depth of up to 4.5 metres and four floating concrete piers with a total length of 385 metres. The marina has been designed with a 70-metre turning circle and a 62-metre-wide entrance, ensuring smooth access even under heavy traffic conditions.

Architecture that Honours Tradition

The design by internationally acclaimed architectural firm Neiheiser Argyros envisions a waterfront development that functions as a natural extension of Ermioni. The architecture draws inspiration from the character of the area’s single-family homes and two-story buildings, using local stone and traditional plaster finishes. Particular attention has been given to the colour palette, inspired by the town’s ancient heritage and its historic production of purple dye. Subtle shades of purple and pink are integrated into the building surfaces, elegantly bridging the past with contemporary design. Special care has been taken to enhance the social and cultural life of Ermioni. Parking areas and road access have been discreetly positioned at the rear of the development, preserving the waterfront promenade exclusively for pedestrians. Two large amphitheatre-style staircases lead directly to the sea, serving both as boarding points for water taxis and as relaxing spaces by the water. At the same time, a shaded park at the edge of the windward breakwater offers unique views of the historic settlement. The landside area will include at least 2,000 sq m of green spaces, ensuring a balance between the built and natural environment, as well as retail shops, restaurants and food and beverage outlets, a 20-room boutique hotel, administrative offices, and operational support facilities.

Strategic Synergies and Connectivity

Ermioni Marina, together with the neighbouring Porto Heli Marina, now part of the Greek Marinas Association, forms an integrated ecosystem offering multiple berthing options, diversified experiences, and a high level of services throughout the year. With construction progressing and operations expected to begin in summer 2027, Ermioni Marina is set to significantly upgrade the tourism offering of the Peloponnese. The project is not merely a new port infrastructure, but an international destination that positions Ermionida at the forefront of global luxury maritime tourism.
