At an event hosted by the Hellenic Management Association (EEDE) on Thursday 13th December, the hotel group was received its four star rating from the EFQM Model of Excellence programme. The prize was received on behalf of bluegr Hotels & Resorts by Mr Vasilis Barbas, IT Manager of the Group, and was presented by Mr Gregory Tapeinos, Chairman of the Board of Directors off EEDE, Gianluca Mulè, Chief Operating Officer of EFQM and Anastasios Rodopoulos, General Manager of EEDE.
bluegr Hotels & Resorts is the brainchild of Ms Gina Mamidaki, Managing Director of the group, who has realised her vision of establishing an innovative hospitality company, aiming for excellence and inspiring the generations to come. With hotels in Crete, Athens and Rhodes, the group aims to diversify the concept of luxury travel, introducing guests to properties built around the framework of the three pillars of quality tourism: breathtaking locations, exceptional service and authentic experiences.
True to its commitment to highlighting the importance of quality tourism, as well as the belief that hospitality should strive for excellence, bluegr Hotels & Resorts adopted the EFQM Business Excellence Model and, in 2016, was honoured with the ‘Committed to Excellence 2-star’ award, which it was retained until this year’s certification as a ‘Recognised for Excellence 4-star’ company.
On receiving the award, Mr Barbas said, “This distinction was achieved through teamwork, and it should be noted that we would not be here today without firm, strong and straightforward leadership to guide us. Our goal is to be back on that podium again in two years, instead of three, to receive the next 5-star level!”
