Travelworks founder Mr Kostas Panagakis joined Ms Chrissa Saravelou, Marketing Manager of the Thessaloniki Hotels Association, and Ms Eleftheria Fili, Head of Publications & Audiovisual Media at the Greek National Tourism Organisation, to share professional insights into the world of social media and its applications in the hotel industry.
The session covered topics such as best practices for social media in hospitality, content strategies, advertising, Google My Business and case studies. The panel discussed how social media can be used to increase engagement with guests, both prior to booking and during their stay, as well as pricing options and content preparation. The speakers also commented on how paid social media ads can convert to direct increases in room bookings, as well as have a positive effect on other hotel services such as restaurant reservations, wedding enquiries and event room hire.
Xenia Digi Hotel is Greece’s leading event on digital technologies for the hotel industry and is part of the wider Xenia 2017 trade show, the leading hospitality trade show in Greece. Xenia 2017 took place over the weekend of the 25-26 November at the Metropolitan Expo, Athens. The show made a powerful re-launch this year after an absence of 5 years, marking a new era for Greek tourism.
