METAXA & The Clumsies Explore GreeceTravelworks acts as hospitality organiser for one of the biggest international PR events in Greece 2018
In July 2018, METAXA, in partnership with leading international bar The Clumsies, invited chosen journalists, customers and private clients to accompany them on METAXA & The Clumsies Explore Greece, a journey through the senses, celebrating the premium spirit brand’s 130 years of creation. A sailing boat with five of the world’s top bartenders on board explored three stunning Greek islands, creating three unique experiences. This was to be one of the largest PR events in Greece in 2018, with more than 300 press & trade guests from 13 countries visiting 4 locations (Athens – Mykonos – Antiparos – Paros).
On the basis of its solid background in hospitality, Travelworks was selected by the House of Metaxa to choreograph and facilitate the hospitality arrangements of the Explore Greece project. A Travelworks team of 10 people (6 on the islands and 4 in Athens) monitored the full roll out of the 7 day project. Over 200 guests from 13 countries arrived and departed on more than 360 flights, staying in 21 hotels and requiring over 250 transfers – all organised and monitored by Travelworks. From market leader liaison, flight ticketing coordination, VIP services, transfer coordination and hotel reservations, to yacht chartering & itinerary planning, gift bag dissemination and venue security, Travelworks undertook responsibility for all the hospitality requirements needed for one of Greece’s biggest international PR events of 2018.

METAXA & The Clumsies explore greece
A sailing boat with five of the world’s top bartenders on board explored three stunning Greek islands, creating three unique experiences. METAXA & The Clumsies Explore Greece was one of the largest PR events in Greece in 2018, with more than 300 press & trade guests from 13 countries visiting 4 locations (Athens – Mykonos – Antiparos – Paros).
The METAXA & The Clumsies Explore Greece sailing boat first set anchor in Mykonos, for a private cocktail party celebrating the 130 years of the creation of the House, with an exclusive reveal by the Metaxa Master, Mr Constantinos Raptis.
The Explore Greece ship sailed onwards towards Antiparos, a remote and peaceful Cycladic haven. Guests were invited to experience a special night by the sea, gazing at the stars and exploring METAXA cocktails at an exclusive beach party.
The final stop of the Explore Greece crew was Paros, where guests enjoyed a unique dining experience at one of the most prestigious tables in Naoussa, followed by an elegant evening of METAXA cocktails on the waterfront.

“It has been a fantastic experience for the House of Metaxa to work with Travelworks for the EXPLORE GREECE events in partnership with The Clumsies in July 2018. It was quite an ambitious project to coordinate the travels to Athens and then to the Cycladic islands of more than 300 guests (journalists, private clients, customers…) from 10 different countries including the UK, France, Russia, Poland, China. Thanks to a strong sense of organisation and a full commitment, Travelworks facilitated the complexity of hospitality arrangements : hotel bookings, transfer, flight coordination, yacht chartering, itinerary planning….Kostas, Katerina and Travelworks team have always been available treating our guests as their own, making them feel considered. It has been a huge success. All our guests have been impressed by its magic and a perfect organisation for an unforgettable experience.”
