Elatos Summer Mountain AdventuresThe most beautiful summer adventure camp for children returns for a 3rd year in the heart of the forests of Parnassus
For the 3rd consecutive year, the Elatos Resort & Health Club is organising its popular educational and entertainment programme, Elatos Summer Mountain Adventures, for children aged 7 – 14 years. From mid-June until the end of July, the resort will turn into a paradise for young visitors, who are invited to spend beautiful summertime moments in heart of the Parnassus National Park – all at an altitude of 1300m!
A new restaurant opens its doors this summer, welcoming guests and friends to its relaxing, shady space. At Il Cortile, high quality meat dominates the menu in dishes married to the flavours of classic Italian cuisine. Diners are invited to enjoy this latest offering...
The Elatos Summer Mountain Adventures were held for the first time in 2016, and are a series of specially designed programmes for the physical and mental development of children. The activities focus on life skills and the emergence of values such as self-help, self-esteem, friendship and love for the environment, as well as offering a welcome break from technology and electronic devices.
This year’s programmes aim to bring children closer to nature, advocating the importance of a healthy lifestyle and initiating an experience immersed in art. Music, dance, arts & crafts, star-gazing, botanical courses, volunteer work, educational trips, hiking, climbing, swimming, water polo and chess tournaments all form part of the rich programme planned by the resort specialists.
Fully-equipped chalets are used to accommodate the children for the duration of the camp, which also includes use of the resort’s facilities across an area of 100 acres. Each chalet hosts 6-9 children of the same gender, with each common age group supervised by a dedicated leader.
At the Club House, the central resort building, healthy meals are served for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Club House also hosts some of the scheduled recreational and sporting activities, such as hip-hop and comedy lessons. However, most of the activities are designed for the countryside, aiming to bring children closer to nature and develop strong links with the environment. As a result, participating children spend most of their time outside for the duration of the camp.
This year, the Elatos Resort & Health Club will also organise a 3rd session at the summer camp, created especially, but not exclusively, for Greek children living abroad! Shorter in duration, lasting only 10 days, and more focussed on activities of a cultural nature, this session has been designed with the aim of bringing children closer to Greek traditions and the Greek language. Days immersed in the Greek countryside, excursions to the Delphi archaeological site and unforgettable moments with peers living in Greece are just some of the experiences that will live on in the young participants’ memories forever.
